Description, illustrations, photos and drawings of the seals of the archbishops of the Archdiocese of Salzburg and the bishops of the dioceses Gurk-Klagenfurt, Chiemsee, Graz-Seckau, Lavant-Marburg / Maribor, Leoben, Innsbruck and Feldkirch from the beginning to the present. In historical sciences and in local history research, seal images of the bishops and archbishops of the dioceses in the Salzburg metropolis are repeatedly included. This publication will provide valuable support as a reference work for the identification of newly found, previously unknown seals. With the photographic documentation of an example of all previously known types of seals for the geographical area described, the previously preserved seal inventory is documented as European cultural heritage for the first time. Seals in particular, whose state of preservation is very poor and can hardly be represented photographically with a sufficient shadow effect, are also made easier to read through drawings. Since seals and their holdings in 38 different archives are exposed to numerous dangers, this documentation is of lasting value.
