Description

Romanas apie psichoterapiją, kuriam geriausiai tiktų „psichoterapinio trilerio" apibūdinimas. Pagrindinis romano veikėjas – psichoterapeutas Ernestas Lešas, kuris labai myli savo darbą ir yra kupinas noro padėti žmonėms. Likimas jam atsiunčia sunkų profesinį išbandymą: apsimetusi paciente, į jį kreipiasi Kerolaina, kurios tikslas – sužlugdyti Ernesto profesinę karjerą. Kerolaina kupina keršto planų, kadangi jos vyras, kuris yra Ernesto pacientas, panoro skirtis su ja. Kaltininku Kerolaina laiko Ernestą, nes ji mano, jog tai jo patarimai pastūmėjo jos vyrą nuspręsti skirtis. Skaitytoją ir vėl žavės atviras bei savikritiškas I. Yalomo žvilgsnis į savo – psichoterapeuto - darbą, kvapą gniauš nenuspėjami terapinio santykio viražai. Autorius pavydėtinai atvirai vaizduoja psichoterapeuto žmogiškumą, kuriam nesvetimos klaidos ir silpnybės, ir drauge skatina patikėti psichoterapinio gydymo galia.
